LA CONDESA
La Condesa is a neighborhood full of history and one of the most iconic areas of Mexico City. The neighborhood is famous for its parks, architecture, cuisine, and cultural life.
During the 17th century, this area was part of the Hacienda de la Condesa, a large agricultural estate where corn was grown and traditional drinks like tepache and pulque were produced.
In 1910, the land was transformed into the Jockey Club, an exclusive race track where the elite attended horse races and social events.
After the Mexican Revolution, the racetrack ceased operations. The old racetrack became the present-day Avenida Amsterdam, while the inner partof of the track became Parque México, lined with Art Deco buildings.
Today, La Condesa combines that historical legacy with specialty cafes, restaurants, galleries, parks, and a cosmopolitan energy that make it a favorite spot for both city residents and visitors from around the world.
La Casa del Mural is just minutes away from Avenida Amsterdam, Parque México and Parque España.

Parque México
Parque México is ideal for buying a good ice cream, sitting down to read a book, having a picnic, or enjoying a coffee. If you love dogs, we recommend visiting on weekends, when you'll see many people walking their pets. Free dance classes are also frequently held in this park.
Avenida Amsterdam
If you love architecture and nature, we recommend buying a coffee and taking a full walk around this street, where you'll see houses of all colors and with beautiful plants.
Museums
National Museum of Anthropology
Mexico's most important museum, with one of the world's most outstanding collections of archaeology and anthropology. It houses iconic pieces such as the Sun Stone and offers a journey through the great pre-Hispanic cultures. From La Casa del Mural, you can walk there in about 35 minutes or drive in about 10 minutes.
Tamayo Museum
Dedicated to modern and contemporary art, the Tamayo Museum presents exhibitions of national and international artists in a contemporary architectural building surrounded by the Chapultepec Forest.
The museum was dedicated to the Mexican painter Rufino Tamayo.

Atte - Mexican
One of newest restaurants in the city. Though it's not located in Condesa, it's just a few minutes away. Our favorites are the lime soup, the enchilada potosina and the shrimp sandwich. Don's miss out on their hoja santa martini.
La Capital - Mexican
Specializing in traditional Mexican cuisine with a contemporary twist, La Capital is known for having the best fideo seco in the city and some great enchiladas filled with squash blossoms.
We recommend trying one of the Mexican wines on their menu.
Xel-Há - Yucatecan
One of the most iconic restaurants in the area, famous for its cochinita pibil tacos and turkey panuchos. It's a favorite spot for longtime residents of the Condesa neighborhood. We recommend going at lunchtime and with a big appetite.
